Shiny Sink ... 39::365 { One Photo a Day }

We've always struggled with clutter in our house. Particularly the dishes in the kitchen sink.Who will do them. When they do them. And that's if they get done at all. Many days you would find our sink and counter full of dirty dishes. It was a constant struggle.

And then I was introduced to FlyLady.net and her beginner baby steps to get control of the chaos & clutter. The very first step is to shine your sink every day, every time you run the water. It's taken me some time, and some days are better than others. But I think I've gotten a hang of this first baby step. Every morning I empty the dishwasher after breakfast, and then load it as the day progresses. After dinner everyone pitches in to clear the table and load the dishwasher. Voila! We're done.

In case you're wondering I have also gotten through baby step two... but not much else. Baby steps. Baby steps.

PS. I spent way too much time figuring out the set-up for this photo today. This afternoon I took pictures of the sink and faucet with different compositions. But when I pulled them up on my computer... BORING. And then I had the idea to include water droplets and thought "easy peasy"... nuh uh! My settings were right (I think), but found that I had to turn out all the lights and use my flash. My settings were ISO400, f/1.8, ss 1.6 sec. Critique welcome!

I love the picture and may try it myself soon. Love the baby step idea too--exactly what I needed to read this morning bc my house is a disaster zone right now

So sorry--somehow I missed your comment thre first time I read through them on MCP! Anyhow, too funny we on the timing... I think your sharpness of the drops is perfect, and for your purposes, showing the sink/faucet too, I like your ap just as it is. It was daylight when I did it; that changes everything. Yours is AWESOME!!

Thanks Jessica! You boosted my confidence. Although I'm still mighty jealous of your pretty fabric, so I might just need to try this one over again. :-)
